General Information
In some countries and federations, organic standards are formulated and overseen by the government. The European Union, the United States, the Canada and Japan have comprehensive organic legislation, and the term "organic" may be used only by certified producers.
Detailed legislation have been set up by the European commission and in many countries at the national level. These documents contain a list of fertilizers and other products authorized for organic agriculture. Some certification agencies also have their own list.
